isn’t anyone going to mention how much did Rooney Mara look like Loki in the Met Gala
We’re in Tagaytay! This restaurant is famous for its bulalo, this soup which had beefed, cabbage and (can you believe it) banana! But the soup isn’t sweet at all, and the banana was quite bland, so it complemented the dish well enough. They refill the soup for you, free of charge!
And of course, no Filipino dish is complete without bangus, the popular milk fish which most Filipinos eat. This one is boneless, but most bangus have so much bones in it, it’s very tricky to eat!

“Oh yeah, halo-halo. Dig deep and you hit delicious stratas of red beans, white beans, and chickpeas, cubes of red and green jello, young white coconut, shaved ice, and is that flan? It makes no goddamn sense at all. I love it.”
“I gotta take a picture of that. It’s oddly beautiful.”
Anthony Bourdain’s description of “Halo-Halo”

“Part of every Pinoy, Filipino’s life. Halo halo,”
“Filipinos are very proud of their food. Underrepresented.”
“They’re going through what we went through, where the glass hasn’t been broken yet to translate it but keep the core and soul of it. But it tastes delicious.”
Don’t know why I’m just posting this now but I still can’t get over this - totally makes up for that rather weak episode long ago where he actually went to the Philippines. And to think Jollibee’s halo-halo ain’t all that.
I need Razon’s or Chowking right now whichever’s the nearest branch in my area.
